Mobipocket

Where can I buy books?
You can buy books at the Mobipocket website or from any of the other Mobipocket Retailers like ebooks.com and ebook.nl.

What is the difference between Mobipocket and free ebooks?
Mobipocket is a format that can be protected using DRM. Therefore Mobipocket is able to sell premium titles, like the latest bestsellers that you can find in your local bookstore. Free ebooks are often classic titles of which the copyright has expired.

Can I copy Mobipocket books?
Yes you can. You can copy and read the protected ebooks from Mobipocket to up to three mobile devices that support the Mobipocket format at the same time, and you will also be able to read the books on your PC or laptop using the Mobipocket Desktop Reader software. Free (unprotected) Mobipocket books can be copied as much as you like.

Is the iLiad the only device supported by Mobipocket?
No, there are many more, but at the moment the iLiad is the only device with an electronic paper display that is supported. You can find a list of supported devices on the Mobipocket website.

Are the books I want to read available from Mobipocket?
On the Mobipocket website you can search for titles and authors of books that are available.

Help! I accidentially deleted my books :(
No problem! You can always redownload your purchased books from the Mobipocket website. Just log into your account and you will be able to download them again.

Which publishers publish their books in the Mobipocket format?
There are hundreds of publishers that publish their books in Mobipocket format nowadays. You can find the whole list of publishers on the Mobipocket website.

Where can I download the Mobipocket Reader software?
You can download the Mobipocket Reader software from the Mobipocket website.

Can I buy and download books on a Mac/Linux system?
Yes you can! Although you are not able to run the Mobipocket Desktop Reader software you can simply buy and download books from the Mobipocket website or any of the Mobipocket retailers.

What's the difference between the iLiad and my laptop or PC?
The iLiad uses an electronic paper display, that looks like the surface of a normal sheet of paper. The clear and stable image of the display is much easier on the eyes and the display uses very little power. With a single battery charge you can easily read up to twelve hours on the iLiad. Also, the iLiad is very small and lightweight, so you can easily take it along.

Does the iLiad work with a Mac/Linux system?
Yes it does! When you connect the iLiad to a computer it behaves like a USB storage device. This means it will show up in your file browser or finder as an additional drive or folder. You can simple drag and drop files to and from the iLiad. The iLiad companion software is only compatible with Microsoft Windows XP, but this software is not required to use the iLiad.

How do I update my iLiad to the latest software version?
Simply connect your iLiad by long-pressing (2 seconds) the the top-right button on the iLiad. If there is a new software version available the iLiad will update itself automatically.
